Family of 6 found dead in their Free State home

Image
Police in Thaba ‘Nchu in the Free State has opened a case of inquest following the mysterious deaths of six family members. It all started on Wednesday 26 May at around 12:30, when an employee at a hardware store, went to the Thaba ‘Nchu police station to report that he had not seen his employer for the past 10 days. Following the encounter with the hardware employee, police went to the given address in town and upon arrival, they were welcomed by a foul smell and flies that came from the Free State home. They then managed to gain entry through the window as all the doors were locked. Inside the house, they found the lifeless bodies of the family of six. They found a man estimated to be 44-years-old, two girls aged about eight and 10, and a boy estimated to be about three-years-old. “Inspecting further in the bedroom, a lifeless body of a female estimated to be about 38-years-old was found and the body of another boy aged about 11-years-old was found in the bathroom,” said Free State

AKA was in the toilet nursing bruises when Nelli Tembe jumped – Close friend speaks; She beat him up

As tensions between AKA and the Tembe family continue to build, more information regarding the mysterious death of Nelli surface. Last week numerous videos showing violence and abuse between AKA and his fiancée Tembe surfaced. AKA is breaking down a door while a terrified Tembe is heard pleading with him to calm down. This led many to believe there is more to this AKA story than what has been shared. However Rapper AKA has issued a public statement in response to reports of alleged “violence and drugs” in his relationship with his late fiancée Nelli Tembe, saying he would not be drawn into exposing their troubles as a couple to defend himself against “one-sided views”. Anele, who is also known as Nelli, died on April 11, after she allegedly jumped off the balcony of the Pepperclub hotel in Cape Town where they were staying after the musician’s gig. A source who does not want to be named said that AKA told them that they arrived at the hotel after his performance and a fight broke out

25-year-old Mali woman gives birth to 9 babies at once: 5 girls and 4 boys (PHOTO)

A young Malian woman became a phenomenon in a single day by safely giving birth to nine babies at once at a hospital in Morocco on Tuesday. Halima Cisse, 25, from the West African country wrote her name in history as a mother of nonuplets — five girls and four boys — and she and the babies are all "doing well," said a written statement from the Mali Health Ministry. Mali's government flew 25-year-old Halima Cisse, a woman from the northern part of the West African state, to Morocco for better care on March 30. She was initially believed to have been carrying septuplets. Cases of women successfully carrying septuplets to term are rare; nonuplets, even rarer. Moroccan health ministry spokesman Rachid Koudhari said he had no knowledge of such a multiple birth having taken place in one of the country's hospitals. But Mali's health ministry said in a statement that Cisse had given birth to five girls and four boys by cesarean section. "The mother and babies are

Ramaphosa to impose much stricter lockdown as deadly UK and Indian Covid-19 variants hit SA

Image
In the absence of a mass vaccination rollout, experts have advised that tighter lockdown restrictions be implemented to avoid a vicious Covid-19 third wave propelled by new variants. The Free State health department announced last week that the province was already in a third wave. The Gauteng provincial government said it was likely to hit the province in the next few weeks. The recent confirmation that two variants of concern – the B.1.617.2 and the B.1.1.7 – were circulating locally had made experts worry about a potentially devastating third wave, especially with low vaccination rates. The B.1.617.2 was first detected in India, and the B.1.1.7 in the UK. Last week, the National Institute of Communicable Diseases predicted that a third wave was likely to be less severe than the other waves – if a new variant was not detected. Dr Asmal Dasoo, convenor of the Progressive Health Forum, said without mass vaccination, the country should move to a stricter lockdown level that would furt

Covid-19 third wave scare hits South Africa as citizens test positive after returning from India

Image
THE fear of a possible third wave of the coronavirus pandemic remains high, despite an assurance by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize that the government has fortified its surveillance on possible new variants. The mounting concern over a possible rise in Covid-19 cases has been driven by reports of individuals who had travelled to India testing positive on arrival in South Africa. In just the past week, cases have been reported of people who travelled from India testing positive. A shipping vessel that docked in KwaZulu-Natal after travelling from India has also added to concerns, as some passengers have tested positive and are in isolation. India is experiencing an increase in Covid-19 cases, suspected to be driven by a variant first identified in that country. Mkhize said the government remained concerned about coronavirus cases being detected at border posts. However, the government had yet to decide on closing the borders. “This increase in detection of cases at the ports of entry is
